Back in Arizona
Wednesday, October 25, 2006 Las Vegas, NV to Kingman, AZ 244 miles - sunny and warm until Kingman After a beautiful sunset in Vegas last night, I woke to a lovely sunny day and hit the road for Kingman. After all the beautiful farm lands and ranch lands I've seen in the last few weeks, it seems the only thing that grows out in this area is power lines. Huge power lines running hither and yon across the land. Passed thru the town of Searchlight and found that some towns actually do use dummy cop cars to try to scare folks into obeying the speed limits. Searchlight has a 25 mph limit thru town, and there was a cop car parked very conspicuously with a dummy in the driver's seat!! Then I spotted a photo op that I'm sure many others have also spotted. I'm pretty sure it's Mama Nature's commentary on those drivers nuts enough to take a truck or a motor home down into Laughlin/Bullhead City and back up the long, long climb back out.
Lovely day until I approached Kingman when the skies turned black and started spitting a bit. But the park I found is really nice. And even nicer was the $2.09.9 I paid for gas at Safeway (with my 10 cent discount!) after paying $3.19.9 in Nevada just a few days ago!!!
On my way to the Phoenix area, because Jimmy and Fran are coming to town from Maui for the weekend, so I'm going to try to meet up with them. Anything for a party!
